Hotel Crowded House, Eceabat
Listing Category
Long Description

This hotel is located very close to main ferry terminal. You can actually see the sign on the hotel as the ferry comes into Eceabat. There is no off road parking but there is parking in the street by the hotel.

The hotel is very much geared towards visitors looking to go on battlefield tours of Gallipoli so many of the guests tend to be from commonwealth countries or Turkish. The main reception lobby and bar area is welcoming and friendly.

The rooms are fairly basic but they are clean and comfortable and the hotel does offer very good value for money. The breakfasts are very good too with a choice of cheeses, jams, bread, eggs and some very good Turkish tea.

This is a well run hotel and we would recommend it as good place to stay. Say G'day to Bill if he is around and look out for Sosis the town mascot dog.

We stopped here for one night on our way to Edirne. An advanced booking for a double room cost 200 tl which is a little on the expensive side for the level of accommodation offered. Check in was straight forward and the room was clean and tidy. However. the bed, whilst comfortable enough, did not have a bed sheet cover, just a bedspread although there was a quilt in the wardrobe.

The hotel has clearly made an effort to upgrade what is or certainly looks like a fairly tired building. You get a reasonably good sized room with no frills, a small TV and a balcony. Fly screens fitted to the balcony door were a nice touch.

Our booking included breakfast for two and the breakfast was served on the terrace bar which is very pleasant with panoramic views of the seafront. Surprisingly for late May the hotel seemed pretty empty.

Parking is easy enough along the main road in front of the hotel. The staff here are pleasant and helpful. For a one night stop over this hotel is OK. There is a supermarket next door and the ferryboat terminal is within walking distance for those without transport.

Long Description

Having booked this hotel in advance and having arrived late at night we were horrified to find out that they had not booked us in despite us having email confirmation of our paid in advance reservation. That said they did go some way towards making amends by arranging our accommodation elsewhere for the first night.

The Hotel Zileli is located near Kepez so it is about 3km or so from the centre of Canakkale. This is a fairly large and established family run hotel. The star rating awarded to it is fair and accurate.

The staff were helpful and friendly and our room was spacious, clean and well laid out. This is a comfortable place to stay if you are visiting Canakkale. There is plenty of parking. We did not stop for an evening meal but the breakfast was exceptionally good with a wide spread of choice between hot and cold self service buffet style layout.

Would I stay here again? Yes I would. There is nothing wrong with this hotel and we would recommend it.

Long Description

Readers should be aware that there are two Parion Hotels now and some of the reviews here are mixed with the older hotel which is a five star hotel of a much better quality.

The hotel we stayed at is very central near the main Ferry Terminal. As a location this is in an excellent position. However, our booking came about as a result of a mix up with another hotel who were anxious to get us booked in somewhere.

We arrived at midnight. Reception consists of a desk in a small glass fronted lobby area. You have to lug your baggage up one flight of stairs to a mini elevator which then takes you to the required floor. Even then, those on the final floor have to lug their cases up another floor once again to reach their room.

Our room was on the roof and whilst OK in terms of general cleanliness but one of the pillow cases was not very clean. The room was stuffy and airless. When you opened the door to what should probably have been a balcony you find that the balcony exists but has been enclosed by a tin roof so there is absolutely no view whatsoever from this enclosed and stuffy little bunker.

Everything else in the hotel works well enough but we were pretty happy to vacate it in the morning and move to the hotel that we had booked. Breakfast was fairly mediocre by Turkish standards with some of the selection having run out and not been replaced even at 8:30 am in the morning.

This hotel does not really deserve the star rating that it has. It would not be my choice again if staying in Canakkale.

Yanmazlar Restoran

Long Description

If you are passing through Ezine then be sure to stop off at Yanmazlar Restaurant which is situated along the main Ezine to Izmir highway just as you come out of town. Essentially an Opet service station you could be mistaken for thinking that this is fast food for the weary traveler when in fact the cuisine here is absolutely outstanding.

The staff here are friendly and attentive and clearly take pride in what they do. The establishment is exceptionally clean and hygienic and one look at the selection of well wrapped fresh meats in the display cabinet will give anyone peace of mind.

We have eaten here several times but I just noticed it got listed on trip advisor so I couldn't resist telling you about this place. Whatever you might order here the quality of the ingredients is second to none. Everything is fresh and cooked from scratch. If you are visiting in the morning then I highly recommend the breakfasts. Truly an authentic feast that will surprise you.

The mixed grill is one of my favourites for an evening meal. We have been here several times now and they never fail to live up to expectation. This is seriously good Turkish food at its best. They clearly have some expert chefs working here.

Most restaurants that are operated from service stations will struggle to reach the standards of this establishment. Situated in a brand new building in pleasant surroundings this is a great place to stop for a break and unlike many highway eateries this one is exceptional value for money.

I can't praise this place enough really. There are a couple of other good restaurants in Ezine which I will get round to writing about but this one is definitely worth a visit.

Ezine cikisinda Izmir yolu uzerinde mola vermek icin ideal bir restorant. Temiz ve duzenli ortami, lezzetli yemekleri, ilgili calisanlariyla servisinden biz cok memnun kaldik.
