The outstanding coastline is littered with old defences. At Kumkale harbour there are two pillboxes with the first wold war battery guns still intact. The Çakaltepe Battery near the picturesque harbour, its guns now silent and rusted. Life is more peaceful here now. From here we follow the coast road, passing through Kumkale and onwards towards Yenikoy.
