The village is of Adatepe is located at the foot of Mount Ida or Kaz Dağı in Turkish. Situated in the Ayvacik district of Çanakkale the village was once inhabited by Greeks. With stunning views of the Edremit Gulf and the island of Lesbos, the old stone houses have mostly been sold to newcomers and have been tastefully renovated and turned into luxury accommodation.
The village has a mix of Greek and Turkish architecture. Most of the houses have courtyards and the olive groves nearby provide an income for the few original villagers that remain. This is a popular tourist destination in the summer months and benefits from being close to the historical site called Zeus Altar.
