Turgutreis is a very popular holiday resort near Bodrum in the province of Muğla. Being close to the Milas-Bodrum airport ensures that is has a steady flow of visitors. Just 20 km away from Bodrum, Turgutreis has 5 km of sandy beaches, good restaurants and bars make it good base from which to explore the local region.
Being the second largest town on the Bodrum peninsula it has everything that you would need to make your stay comfortable. The town is named after a famous Ottoman Admiral called Turgut Reis. Also known as Dragut, he was an exploreer and military man who who died during the Ottoman siege of Malta.
The Saturday market is well worth visiting and the sunsets here can be quite spectacular. Whilst you cannot actually get inside the huge marina you can view the various yachts and boats inside from a distance.
