Kebapçı İskender is located at Atatürk Caddesi 60 in the Osmangazi district of Bursa, next to the Tayyare Kültür Merkezi, in one of the city’s most historic areas. The restaurant features traditional décor and retains the charm of its famous “Mavi Köşe Dükkân” façade dating back to the 1930s. Founded in 1867 by İskender Efendi in Bursa’s Kayhan district, the restaurant created the iconic İskender kebap, with thinly sliced lamb on pide, served with tomato sauce, yogurt and melted butter.
Over the years it has grown into a well-known brand while staying anchored in its historic birthplace. The meal was presented beautifully, with the meat perfectly cooked, the tomato sauce rich but balanced, and the yogurt providing a refreshing contrast. The melted butter added a delightful aroma and sizzle. Service was attentive and the atmosphere comfortable, making the experience memorable. The meal was very tasty, though quite expensive compared with other local kebap shops.
