Side, located on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast about 75 km east of Antalya, is a charming holiday resort town known for its beautiful beaches, ancient ruins, and lively harbour. Side Antik Tiyatrosu, M.S. 2. yüzyilda insa edilmistir ve yaklasik 15.000 kisilik kapasiteye sahiptir. Anadolu’nun en büyük antik tiyatrolarindan biri olan bu yapi, günümüzde hâlâ çesitli etkinliklere ve gösterilere ev sahipligi yapmaktadir.
Apollon ve Athena Tapinaklari deniz kenarinda yer alir. Bu görkemli tapinaklarin kalintilari M.S. 2. yüzyila tarihlenir. Özellikle Apollon Tapinagi’nin ikonik sütunlari, gün batiminda son derece etkileyici bir manzara sunar ve Akdeniz’e karsi essiz bir görüntü olusturur.

Side ayrica birkaç güzel plaja da ev sahipligi yapar. Dogu Plaji daha sakin ve huzurluyken, Bati Plaji daha canlidir; su sporlari ve aile dostu olanaklar sunar.
Kisa bir sürüs mesafesinde yer alan Manavgat Selalesi, doga tutkunlari için popüler bir noktadir. Yüksekligi çok fazla olmasa da genis ve güçlü bir akisa sahiptir, yemyesil dogayla çevrilidir. Yakinindaki kafeler ve piknik alanlari burayi günübirlik geziler için ideal hâle getirir.
Side, diger önemli antik bölgeleri kesfetmek için de harika bir konumda yer alir. Aspendos, olaganüstü korunmus Roma tiyatrosuyla ünlüdür. Perge ise bir zamanlar oldukça gelismis bir antik kentin genis kalintilarina ev sahipligi yapar. Her iki yer de Side’den günübirlik gezilerle kolayca ulasilabilir.
