Güneyli is a small coastal village which can be accessed from the E87 highway. It is situated 59 km from Çanakkale and 11 km from Gelibolu. It has a population of around 800 residents but these numbers are swelled considerably during the summer months as local tourists with family homes flood to the seaside.
Güneyli village used to be known as Kargacık. The hub of the village centres around the small harbour and the extensive wide sandy beach that makes this a favourite spot for those in the know. Both sides of the village are surrounded by new holiday builds but the general atmosphere is calm and serene and it is easy to see why this place is popular in the summer months.
There is a good restaurant and places where you can drink tea or coffee and watch the world pass you by as you stare out to sea and congratulate yourself on finding the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
