Devlet Su İşleri Genel Müdürlüğü (DSİ), known in English as the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, is Turkey’s primary public authority responsible for water resource management, irrigation systems and flood control. Established in 1954, DSİ operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and plays a central role in constructing dams, water supply networks and hydroelectric power plants across the country. The institution’s work is vital to Turkey’s agricultural productivity, energy production and sustainable water management. It also leads projects for rural development and environmental protection related to national water resources.
