Algida is one of the biggest ice cream brands in Turkey, working under Unilever (now The Magnum Ice Cream Company) and offering a very wide portfolio—from Magnum and Cornetto to Carte d’Or and Maraş-style ice creams. It has a massive distribution network across Turkey with thousands of retail partners.
Golf is a major domestic Turkish ice cream producer with two production plants (in Bursa and Kahramanmaraş). Known especially for its innovation (with sorbets, premium “Maraşım” line, etc.), Golf has become a large-scale industrial manufacturer while still highlighting its Kahramanmaraş heritage.
While not a single “manufacturer” in the industrial sense, the Karamanas (Maraş-style street ice cream sellers) are deeply embedded in Turkish ice cream culture. These vendors are known for their theatrical serving style, using long paddles to stretch and play with the dondurma before handing it off to the customer. Their ice cream is typically made in small-scale traditional shops or local Maraş parlors, often using salep and high-fat milk to achieve the characteristic chewiness.
There are many kara manas (Maraş) vendors across tourist areas in Turkey, especially in Istanbul and southern Turkey, and they’re a cultural icon as much as a business.
Panda is a historic and iconic Turkish ice cream brand. Founded by Has Gıda in 1984, it was among the first industrial, packaged ice creams in Turkey. It offers a variety of flavors and formats, and has historically had a strong presence in both retail and domestic homes.
