Transport in Türkiye

Coach Travel, Buses, Taxis, Ferries, Dolmuş and Internal Flights

Overview

Türkiye’s transport system is diverse and well developed. Major cities have modern metro and tram networks, ferries are still a daily commuting option in Istanbul, intercity coaches remain an affordable and comfortable way to travel long distances, internal flights connect the main centres efficiently, and a lively mix of dolmuş (shared minibuses), municipal buses and taxis fill the gaps. Fares and service quality vary by city and operator, but overall transport in Türkiye is reliable and competitively priced.

1) Coach Travel (Intercity Buses)

Intercity coaches (otobüs) are comfortable long-distance buses operating between cities and towns. Major operators include Metro Turizm, Pamukkale, and Kamil Koç. Coaches usually offer reclining seats, air conditioning, onboard toilets, Wi-Fi, and refreshments or scheduled food stops.
