Uzungöl or Long Lake, is a large natural lake that is reputed to have been formed by a landslide many years ago. Just 99 km from Trabzon it is a very famous landmark and a place that Turkish people often think of when you mention the Black Sea region.
This is a very popular tourist spot and best visited during the weekdays and not at weekends or national holidays when there is a tendency for it to get over crowded. This enchanting lake, with its backdrop of lush green rolling hills and the Soganli mountains, is a photographers paradise.
Uzungöl is the ideal place for hiking, bird watching, and a host of sports such as paragliding, jeep safaris, quad bike tours or bike rental. In recent years the hotels and establishments around the lake have increased in number. There are handcrafted souvenirs on sale which include clothing, dolls and food produce. There are plenty of hotels and guest houses, some very good restaurants and cafes.
If you are feeling like splashing out some cash then you can also consider a helicopter tour. Whilst we highly recommend a visit to Uzungöl and its beautiful countryside we did feel that it runs the risk of being spoiled if it develops further.
Uzungöl ya da Long Lake, büyük bir doğal göldür ve bir toprak kayması sonucu oluştuğu söylenmektedir. Trabzon’a sadece 99 km uzaklıkta olan bu yer, çok ünlü bir simgedir ve Türk halkı, Karadeniz Bölgesi denildiğinde genellikle burayı düşünür.
Burası çok popüler bir turistik yerdir ve hafta içi ziyaret edilmesi tavsiye edilir. Hafta sonları ve bayramlarda ise kalabalık olma eğilimindedir. Doğal güzelliği, yemyeşil tepeler ve Soganlı Dağları ile çevrili bu göl, fotoğrafçılar için bir cennettir.
Uzungöl, yürüyüş, kuş gözlemi ve yamaç paraşütü, cip safarisi, ATV turları ya da bisiklet kiralama gibi birçok spor aktivitesi için idealdir. Son yıllarda göl çevresindeki otel ve işletmelerin sayısı artmıştır. Burada el yapımı hediyelikler satılmaktadır, bunlar arasında giysiler, bebekler ve gıda ürünleri bulunmaktadır.
Bölge, çok sayıda otel, misafirhane ve harika restoranlar ile kafelere sahiptir.
Biraz para harcamak isterseniz, helikopter turu da bir seçenektir. Uzungöl ve çevresindeki güzel doğayı kesinlikle tavsiye ediyoruz, ancak bölgenin daha fazla gelişmesi, buranın bozulmasına neden olabilir.
